Wine, hummingbird festivals promise fun
Whether you want to drive north or south this weekend, you’ll find something fun to do in either direction.
If you’re heading north, check out the fifth annual Sedona Hummingbird Festival.
Presented by the Hummingbird Society, the event will be held at the Sedona Performing Arts Center and a variety of hummer-friendly spots around the town.
Ross Hawkins, founder and executive director of the Hummingbird Society, said there will be educational presentations by hummingbird experts, selfguided garden tours and birding trips that will allow people to see the colorful and energetic little birds up close.
Presentations will include “Hummingbird Garden Design” by horticulturalist Mark Fleming; “Nature Gives Us Art: The Zen of Photographing Hummingbirds” by Beth Kingsley Hawkins, owner of the Sedona Hummingbird Gallery; and “Hummingbirds 101: The Basics of Attracting and Feeding Hummingbirds” by Ross Hawkins.
