was awarded two Bronze Stars (for distinguis­hed heroic or meritoriou­s achievemen­t or service) with one including a V for valor, two Commendati­on Medals (for heroism, meritoriou­s achievemen­t or meritoriou­s service), and a Purple Heart. Despite his limited schooling, he qualified to attend many advanced military courses generally reserved for senior officers or West Point Graduates, of which at the time he was neither. He later became an instructor at the Army’s Field Artillery School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Despite his exemplary military career, his greatest and proudest achievemen­t was the way in which he always took care of his family (wife Susan and son Michael). Another proud achievemen­t was the seven years he spent as a teacher’s aide helping with math and science classes at Tonalea Elementary School in Scottsdale. He considered himself extremely lucky in all aspects of life and was always the picture of optimism. Private services have been held. passed away on February 15, 2017. Beloved wife, mom, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Smile as you remember her as she is with our Lord and smiling over us all. Born in Pennsylvan­ia and a lifelong Pittsburg Steeler fan, she moved to Payson, Arizona when you could still walk through the riverbeds and find natural turquoise on the ground. She met her husband of 42 years in Texas and they were two sparrows together through the sometime hurricanes of life. Sue was a sweet lady who attended her local LDS church and shared in many happy moments there all while wearing her unique hats. She is survived by her husband Richard, children; Gerald, Melissa, Danny, Stormie, Richard Jr and 10 grandchild­ren & great grandchild­ren and countless family members. Flowers may be sent to Chapel of the Chimes 7924 N 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. Bill was born in New York City on May 14, 1942, resided in Mesa and passed away in Gilbert, AZ on February 17, 2017. He leaves his partner of 40 years and husband of 3 years, Barry Booth, and his brothers, Gary (Myrna) and Robert of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was predecease­d by his parents, William J. and Muriel J. Worster and his brother, Kenny. Bill attended Pratt University specializi­ng in commercial interior design. He worked for design and architectu­ral firms in New York City as well as in San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA. There will be no services in Arizona and interment will be in Iowa. Memorials in his honor may be donated to the Human Rights Campaign.
