Street leaves Angels’ win early with triceps injury

-

Angles 6, Brewers 5: Los Angeles reliever Huston Street faced only two batters before exiting with right triceps irritation. He will have an MRI.

Kole Calhoun hit an RBI double for the Angels, unbeaten in their last 18 exhibition games dating to spring training last year. Matt Shoemaker gave up two runs on two hits and two walks over two innings.

Domingo Santana went 3 for 3 with two homers and three RBIs for Milwaukee, and starter Junior Guerra pitched two scoreless innings.

Rangers 8, Mariners 2: Carlos Gomez went 2 for 3 with a homer and slugging prospect Joey Gallo crushed a homer to straightaway center field for Texas.

Seattle starter Hisashi Iwakuma went two innings and allowed a run on three hits and a walk. Mariners prospect Mitch Haniger hit his second homer and Jarrod Dyson went 2 for 3 with an RBI triple.

Reds 8, Cubs 4: Cincinnati starter Tim Adleman tossed three shutout innings without giving up a hit to the World Series champions. Eugenio Suarez had two hits and two RBIs for the Reds, who scored five times in the third without a base hit.

Athletics 6, Giants 1: Yonder Alonso and Ryon Healy homered, and Oakland starter Kendall Graveman pitched two scoreless innings.

Giants starter Jeff Samardzija allowed one run in 2 ⁄ innings, striking out three.

San Francisco ace Johnny Cueto was finally scheduled to arrive in camp Friday night, but the Dominican right-hander probably won’t pitch in the World Baseball Classic — at least in the first round.

Cueto’s father has been ill, so the pitcher wanted to bring him to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic. That delayed his arrival by a couple of weeks so that a visa could be obtained for his dad.

Cueto has been working out at the Giants’ facility in the Dominican Republic, so the late arrival is not expected to affect anything relating to the pitcher’s normal preparation for the season.

Royals 7, Dodgers (ss) 2: Christian Colon doubled in a run and Bubba Starling drove in two with a single for Kansas City. Ian Kennedy threw two hitless innings.

Los Angeles lefty Rich Hill was roughed up for four runs on three hits and two walks in 11⁄3 innings. Chase Utley had two RBIs.

Rockies 16, Indians 7: Gerardo Parra went 3 for 3 with two runs and Stephen Cadullo hit a grand slam for Colorado. Jeff Hoffman pitched two scoreless innings.

Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco was tagged for four runs and six hits over 11⁄3 innings. Giovanna Urshela launched a grand slam off German Marquez.
