ASU softball goes 1-2 in California tourney

The No. 20-ranked Arizona State softball team fell 4-2 to No. 22 Baylor on Friday in the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. On Thursday, ASU (13-5) lost to No. 14 Michigan, 2-0, then beat Cal State Fullerton, 10-1. The tournament continues Saturday.

Lingos, ASU top Loyola Marymount

Eli Lingos pitched 72⁄3 scoreless innings, striking out six to lead Arizona State baseball (6-3) to a 2-1 win over visiting Loyola Marymount on Friday night.

Fight over Lakers goes to court

LOS ANGELES - Jeanie Buss went to court to stop what her attorneys call an attempt the Los Angeles Lakers.

The brothers’ lawyers responded that they have no such intentions and that it was entirely unnecessar­y to go to court.

The matter was dropped when Jeanie Buss withdrew her request for a restrainin­g order to stop the brothers from moves against her.
