No. 10 Stanford women top No. 6 Ore. St. to win Pac-12
SEATTLE - Alanna Smith scored 18 points, Karlie Samuelson added 14 and No. 10 Stanford overcame an early 13point deficit to beat No. 6 Oregon State 48-43 and win the Pac-12 Tournament championship Sunday night.
The Cardinal (28-5) won their 12th tournament title, the most in conference history, and took the Pac-12’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
While Smith was carrying Stanford at the offensive end, the Cardinal shut down Oregon State and star Sydney Wiese, getting a bit of payback for a pair of regular-season losses to the Beavers. Oregon State (29-4) shot just 32 percent, made one shot in the fourth quarter, was held to a season low in points and lost for the first time since Feb. 10.
ACC women’s championship - No. 3 Notre Dame 84, Duke 61: Arike Ogunbowale scored 21 points and Brianna Turner added 18 to help No. 3 Notre Dame beat 13th-ranked Duke 84-61 on Sunday in the ACC Tournament championship game, clinching the NCAA bid.
The Fighting Irish (30-3) became the second team in ACC history to win the conference regular-season and tournament titles in four straight seasons.
Atlantic-10 women’s championship - Dayton 70, Duquesne 56: Kelley Austria scored 20 points and Saicha GrantAllen added a double-double in leading Dayton over Duquesne 70-56 on Sunday in the Atlantic 10 Tournament championship game to claim an NCAA berth.
Austria was 7 of 11 from the field, including three 3-pointers, with Grant-Allen scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the top-seeded Flyers (22-9.
Big Ten women’s championship No. 4 Maryland 74, Purdue 64: Brionna Jones had 27 points and 12 rebounds and No. 4 Maryland beat Purdue 74-64 on Sunday night to win the Big Ten Tournament championship for the third straight season.
The Terrapins (30-2) claimed the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
SEC women’s championship - No. 5 South Carolina 59, No. 6 Mississippi State: Kaela Davis had 23 points and A’ja Wilson scored seven of her 15 points in the fourth quarter to send South Carolina to its third straight SEC Tournament crown.
Southern Conference women’s championship - Chattanooga 61, Mercer 59: Jasmine Joyner’s free throw with three seconds remaining — and a Mercer miss as time expired — helped Chattanooga cap a ferocious fourth-quarter rally to win a fifth-straight Southern Conference Tournament Championship.
Top 25 men
No. 16 Purdue 69, Northwestern 65: Vincent Edwards scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half and Caleb Swanigan added 20 points and 14 rebounds to help No. 16 Purdue beat Northwestern.
Purdue (25-6, 14-4 Big Ten) clinched the outright regular-season conference title earlier in the week, but had to hold on in the final seconds to fend off Northwestern (21-10, 10-8).
No. 18 Cincinnati 67, Connecticut 47: Gary Clark had 17 points and 14 rebounds, leading No. 18 Cincinnati over short-handed Connecticut 67-47 Sunday in the regular-season finale for both.
Jarron Cumberland added 15 points and Jacob Evans III had 12 for the Bearcats (27-4, 16-2 American Athletic Conference).
No. 22 Wisconsin 66, Minnesota 49: Senior guard Bronson Koenig scored 17 points in his final home game, combining with D’Mitrik Trice to give No. 22 Wisconsin’s offense a second-half boost in a 66-49 victory over Minnesota on Sunday.
The Badgers (23-8, 12-6 Big Ten) secured the second seed in the conference tournament and got a sorely needed confidence boost to end the regular season.
Men’s conference championships
Big South Conference championship - Winthrop 76, Campbell 59: Winthrop earned its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2010, beating Campbell 76-59 Sunday in the Big South Conference Tournament championship game behind Keon Johnson’s 26 points.
The top-seeded Eagles (26-6) scored on the first possession of the game and never trailed.
Missouri Valley Conference championship - No. 21 Wichita State 71, Illinois State 51: Conner Frankamp scored 19 points and Markis McDuffie added 16 as No. 21 Wichita State beat Illinois State 7151 in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship game Sunday, earning an automatic NCAA Tournament berth.
Atlantic Sun Conference championship - Florida Gulf Coast 77, North Florida 61: Brandon Goodwin scored 19 points and Florida Gulf Coast earned its third NCAA Tournament trip in the last six seasons with a 77-61 win over North Florida in the Atlantic Sun Conference championship game on Sunday.

No. 1 UConn 78, UCF 56: Gabby Williams and Napheesa Collier each scored 16 points as top-ranked UConn beat UCF 78-56 Sunday in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference tourney.
No. 2 Baylor 88, No. 24 Kansas St. 71: Nina Davis scored 24 to help No. 2 Baylor defeat No. 24 Kansas State 88-71 on Sunday in the Big 12 women’s semifinals.
