Way to silence public’s voice

Do Arizona’s legislator­s want to hear from our populous or just their fellow party members? Reviewing the voting pattern of our present Legislatur­e reveals that most bills are passed strictly along party lines, and some bills actually discourage voter involvemen­t, e.g. HB 2404.

Bill by bill we are being ignored and slowly becoming legally disenfranc­hised.

How can “we the people” be heard? Calling, e-mailing, encounteri­ng our representa­tives? Letters to the editor? Facebook? Twitter? Peaceful demonstrat­ions?

The Republic’s love affair with all things UA sports is embarrassi­ng. Zero analysis or criticism. Lots of feel-good love on the players and celebrity alum.

Kudos to the kids. Sean Miller’s end of game management was equally embarrassi­ng. No plan, no play, no time out? Tucson’s love affair is understand­able. Mediocre sports is better than no sports.

What’s the sport alternativ­e? Perhaps extending Sean’s contract another couple of years and increasing his salary to five or six times that of the UA president will get the job done. Bear Down Wilbur.
