More condos coming to Old Town Scottsdale
Old Town Scottsdale is becoming a hub for high-end condominiums. Half of the homes in a new development called Main Street Place have already sold, and prices there start above $800,000.
LVA Urban Design Studio broke ground on the condo development, on the northeast corner of Main and 75th streets, earlier this year.
Prices for the 12 condos in Main Street Place, just east of Scottsdale City Hall, can run as high as almost $2 million.
“A key element in the overall design plan is the ability to enjoy the vibe and energy around Civic Center,” said Steven Voss, president of the developer. “We wanted to have, and offer, the ability to do a custom-level home in an urban setting.”
He and his wife, Wendy Voss, are moving into a Main Street Place condo.
About a half dozen new condo developments are underway or were recently completed in downtown Scottsdale. Buyers are willing to pay more to be within walking distance of the area’s shopping and restaurants.
Last year, construction started on a condo and office project designed by award-winning architect Will Bruder in Scottsdale’s art district of Old Town. Prices in the development, Eldorado on 1st, started at $1.5 million.
Bob Nathan of real-estate brokerage Engels-Voelkers said one of the most popular amenities for buyers at Main Street Place is the 575-square-foot patio that comes with each home.
Homebuyers at Main Street also have access to a 1,600-square-foot hospitality suite and seven-passenger SUV. Construction is scheduled to be completed in November.
