ISLANDERS 4, Senators 2: Anders Lee and Brock Nelson scored in the second period and New York closed the season with their sixth straight win, beating a playoff-bound Ottawa. Andrew Ladd and Jason Chimera also scored and Nelson had an assist for the Islanders, which was eliminated from playoff contention Saturday. RED WINGS 4, Devils 1: Riley Sheahan had two goals and Henrik Zetterberg scored in his 1,000th NHL game, helping Detroit beat New Jersey in a party-like atmosphere for the final game at Joe Louis Arena. Jimmy Howard stopped 24 shots for the Red Wings, who failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 1990. LIGHTNING 4, Sabres 2: Brayden Point scored a pair of goals, including the winner with 1:24 left, as Tampa Bay topped Buffalo in the season finale for both teams Sunday. Braydon Coburn scored a short-handed goal and Victor Hedman added an empty-netter for the Lightning. BLUES 3, Avalanche 2: Vladimir Tarasenko netted a goahead goal 19 seconds after Vladimir Sobotka scored in his first NHL game in three years, lifting St. Louis over Colorado in the regular-season finale for both teams. The Blues have won 15 of their last 19 games. Blue Jackets 3, MAPLE LEAFS 2: James van Riemsdyk scored twice, but Toronto dropped their regular-season finale to Columbus and will face the Washington Capitals in the opening round of their first postseason since 2013. Curtis McElhinney made 29 saves. Hurricanes 4, FLYERS 3 (SO): Bryan Bickell scored in the shootout of his final game before retiring because of multiple sclerosis, and Carolina beat Philadelph­ia in the season finale for both teams. Eddie Lack stopped 41 shots for the Hurricanes, who finished the season 36-31-15. RANGERS 3, Penguins 2: Jimmy Vesey scored a tiebreakin­g goal in the third period and New York beat Pittsburgh in the regular-season finale for both teams Sunday. Ryan McDonagh had a goal and an assist, Derek Stepan had a goal and Mika Zibanejad added two assists for the Rangers. Panthers 2, CAPITALS 0: With several regulars resting — including John Carlson, Matt Niskanen and T.J. Oshie — the playoff-bound Washington lost their regular-season finale to Florida on Sunday. Captain Derek MacKenzie and Denis Malgin scored for Florida. DUCKS 4, Kings 3 (OT): Nate Thompson scored to tie it with 8:26 to play and Shea Theodore won it in overtime, helping Anaheim clinch their fifth consecutiv­e Pacific Division title with a victory over Los Angeles. The Kings have missed the playoffs for the second time in three years. OILERS 5, Canucks 2: Connor McDavid hit the 100-point mark, Jordan Eberle recorded a hat trick and Edmonton beat Vancouver in the final regular-season game on the NHL schedule. McDavid had a pair of assists and ended the season with 30 goals and 70 assists in 82 games.
