End flight overbooking with hard line on ticket refunds
United Airlines got a black eye for having a passenger forcibly removed from a flight to make room for four airline employees. While this is not technically “overbooking,” the airlines say they must overbook to compensate for the “many no-shows.” So we really have no right to the seats we bought and paid for.
Simple solution: No more overbooking, and a “no-show” is a wasted, nonrefunded ticket. — Mark Huenemann, Peoria Editor’s note: United has since clarified the flight wasn’t overbooked but was at full capacity, requiring removal of passengers to accommodate employees.
You can’t back travel ban and support Trump’s missile strike
To those who cheer the recent U.S. missile strike in Syria, but support Trump’s travel ban, shame on you.
Are we as a nation only moved to act when victims are murdered in a way we find particularly appalling? How many of those gassed children could have been saved if we’d opened our doors and our arms to them?
I was an Obama supporter, but I criticized his handling of this war. I’m no friend to Trump, but I’d stand behind him if he’d end this six-year massacre by both letting it’s victims into our nation and holding the perpetrators of this genocide accountable for their actions.
What kind of nation and people are we if we can’t put our hearts behind our deeds? What kinds of leaders are we if we only respond proportionally, equating blown up jets to murdered women and children?
What good is America First, if America doesn’t stand for anything good? Disillusioned but hopeful.
