Making the dream home come true in Glendale

Christine Sartor doesn’t have an architectu­re background, but that didn’t stop her from designing an 8,000-square foot Glendale dream home. The house is in the elite Willow Estates Community and has five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.

“I always had an idea of what I wanted in a home,” Christine Sartor said. “I pretty much got it right where I wanted it. It was a good process. I worked with an architect who embellishe­d the plans and made it all come together.”

The architect added the large entry, the spiral entry, the 24-foot ceilings, the raised dining area, and several convenienc­es, such as a second staircase.

The stunning abode that Christine and husband Rod Sartor custom built in 1996 became even more than a dream home. It became a place where they raised two girls and two boys and welcomed hundreds of their children’s classmates, and now it’s where seven grandchild­ren make a new era of memories.

Open floor plan

The open floor plan is what the Sartors like most about the house.

“Christine loves wide-open floor plans where a lot of family and friends can come over you can see everyone from the family room and the kitchen and the living room,” Rod said. “It’s a very wide-open type of design. We just wanted to be able to enjoy entertaini­ng and have a welcoming home.”
