Lindsey Stirling gets a YouTube documentary by Emmy winners
Gilbert native Lindsey Stirling is the subject and star of a new YouTube Red tour documentary, “Lindsey Stirling: Brave Enough.” It’s the latest from Magical Elves, the Emmy-winning directors/ producers behind “Katy Perry: Part of Me” & “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.”
Slated to premiere on YouTube Red on May 17, the documentary follows Stirling as she embarks on a worldwide tour in support of her third album, “Brave Enough.”
It features live performances, indepth interviews and never-before-seen personal footage as it tells the story of her rise to fame and the evolution of her sound.
The electronic violinist graduated from Mesquite High School, rising to fame in 2010 after making the quarter-finals on “America’s Got Talent,” where Piers Morgan sniffed, “You’re not untalented, but you’re not good enough to get away with flying through the air and trying to play the violin at the same time.” Turns out he was dead wrong. Stirling went on to become a viral video sensation whose “Crystallize” was the eighth most-watched YouTube video of 2012 and now has more than 171 million views. Her total YouTube views are more than 1.7 billion and he YouTube channel has more than 9.2 million subscribers.
