Utah rallies past ASU baseball, 7-4

ASU baseball (23-31) lost a three-run, first-inning lead when Utah roughed up starting pitcher Eli Lingos for five runs in the fifth inning on their way to a 7-4 win Saturday in Salt Lake City.

Taylor Lane got the Sun Devils going early with a three-run double in the opening frame, but ASU was held scoreless until the ninth inning, when their rally attempt fell short. ASU closes its season Sunday.

Suns to hold prospect workouts Monday and Tuesday

With the NBA draft less than a month away, the Suns will hold their first announced workouts Monday and Tuesday at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Phoenix has the No. 4 pick in the June 22 draft. The Suns – who finished this season with the league's second-worst record – also have two second-round picks, the 32nd and 54th overall selections.

Team officials generally don't announce participan­ts until Texas center Jarrett Allen and Vanderbilt forward Luke Kornet are expected to participat­e in Tuesday's workout.

ASU men’s golf in 21st at NCAA championsh­ip

ASU golf was in 21st place after two rounds of the NCAA Division I championsh­ip, finishing Saturday with a 5-over 293.

Chun An Yu had the high score for the Sun Devils, shooting a 1-over 73.

Hayes scores 24, Dream edge Sparks 75-73

ATLANTA - Tiffany Hayes scored a season-high 24 points, including a critical free throw with 12 seconds to play, and the Atlanta Dream handed the defending champion Los Angeles Sparks their second-straight loss, 75-73.

Layshia Clarendon was the only starter not in double figures for Atlanta. She had nine points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Gray led Los Angeles (2-2) with a career-high 25 points.
