This feline Mother of Dragons is in search of the kingdom she deserves

- BRAD FAYE

Anybody familiar with Game of Thrones is well aware of Daenerys Targaryen and her rise from outcast to one of the most powerful people in all the Seven Kingdoms. Nicknamed the “Mother of Dragons,” Daenerys is strong and determined, but proves that she won’t allow her difficult past to hinder her present and future by displaying a large heart under several different circumstances.

The parallels between the journey of Daenerys and several of the pets under the care of the Arizona Humane Society are striking, and the similarities between she and one particular 4-yearold domestic shorthair is no exception.

Since named Mother of Dragons by the AHS team, when first brought to our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital as a stray, it was discovered that this friendly feline had severe swelling and bruising in her right hind leg. What made this so surprising was that Mother of Dragons was extremely friendly upon intake as opposed to most who might have been brought in while experiencing similar levels of pain.

True to her name, this Mother of Dragons always pushes forward in spite of any obstacles thrown her way, and remains just as kind and loving as her namesake.

Mother of Dragons will be available for adoption at noon Sunday at the Arizona Humane Society, 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix. Included in her adoption fees will be her spay/neuter surgery, all current vaccinations, microchip and a bag of Hill’s Science Diet Food.

You’ll also receive 20 percent off at AHS’ Petique retail at the time of adoption, meaning you’ll have the perfect opportunity to get this Mother of Dragons a throne.

We still have to wait several months before we’ll find out whether or not Daenerys Targaryen will be named queen in the Game of Thrones universe, but thanks to the love and attention she received courtesy of the Arizona Humane Society, you now have the power to give this Mother of Dragons the kingdom she deserves much sooner.
