Here’s a way to keep drunks from driving the wrong way

-

I’m sorry for the victims in the I-17 collision on the Fourth of July.

One of my friends nearly became a victim. Such “accidents” are senseless and preventable. Since people won’t stop drinking and driving, it’s time for the Arizona Department of Transportation to step up to the plate and do more to protect us.

How about placing one-way treadles at every freeway exit so nobody can enter the freeway from the wrong direction? Sure, there would be a cost involved but then we could possibly prevent fatalities from idiot drunkards driving the wrong way on the freeways.

Thinking about how to prevent more wrong-way drivers

It’s time some guidelines were developed on what to do in a wrong-way driver situation.

We need to plan ahead and not wait until an emergency occurs. I would propose staying in the slow lane whenever possible, as a driver going the wrong way is most likely coming in the high speed lane.

What if you are going the wrong way? I have heard no suggestions on how to safely turn around.

Maybe the freeways need turnaround paths through the median.

Climate change? No problem. Gov. Ducey has a strategy

In reference to the effects of climate change on the Arizona economy, I don’t think we need worry. If the economy does worsen due to climate change, Gov. Doug Ducey and the Republicans in the Legislature will just cut more taxes on big business and reduce regulations. Problem solved.

When you think about it, pro-life movement is actually pro-woman

I think editorial columnist Elvia Diaz needs to take her own advice and not let her anger cloud her brain cells of rational thinking.

If she wasn’t so angry about anti-abortion supporters, she would realize that being against abortion is not Stone Age thinking and actually feminist.

It tells women to stand up and not let men walk all over them, ending the perception that women have abortions out of pressure, not because they actually want them.

It also suggests adoption is an option. It’s not just being pious.

And what is so wrong with Planned Parenthood focusing on services like diabetes and breast-cancer screenings?

This conservative will vote for those who support education

I’ve been a conservative in this state for over 50 years. During that time, Republicans have pretty much run Arizona.

The Arizona secretary of state does not have my permission to release my name, address, birth date, party affiliation, partial Social Security number, military service to the Trump voter
