Assistant cross country coach Jeremy Rasmussen has been named the new head coach of the men's & women's program, announced Vice President for Athletics Ray Anderson on Wednesday.

Yankees deal for Frazier, Robertson, Kahnle

CHICAGO - The New York Yankees acquired infielder Todd Frazier and relievers David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle from the Chicago White Sox for reliever Tyler Clippard and three prospects.

The deal was announced Tuesday night, less than two weeks before the nonwaiver trade deadline.

Chris Froome consolidat­ed his overall lead as Fabio Aru lost touch with the three-time champion’s group on the punishing gradients of the Galibier.

Charles’ double-double lifts Liberty over Sun

NEW YORK - Tina Charles had 28 points and 17 rebounds to help New York beat Connecticu­t 96-80 on Wednesday.

Kristi Toliver scored 29 points, hitting seven 3-pointers, and Washington rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat Atlanta in overtime.

Sylvia Fowles had 24 points and 12 rebounds, Maya Moore added 23 points and Minnesota cruised past Dallas.

Crafton wins on dirt at Eldora, ends drought

ROSSBURG, Ohio - Matt Crafton won the Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway on Wednesday night for his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory in more than a year.

The two-time series champion passed Stewart Friesen with 16 laps to go and won by 1.96 seconds in his No. 88 Toyota. Crafton won for the first time since May 2016 at Charlotte.
