Craig Hocknull of Gilbert won his second career Southwest PGA Profession­al Championsh­ip on Wednesday, carding a 3-shot victory over Ben Kreger at The Gallery Golf Club in Marana. Hocknull, 42, the PGA director of instructio­n at Outback Golf Academy, also won the title in 2011.

Prosecutor: Woods to plead guilty

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Tiger Woods has agreed to plead guilty to reckless driving and will enter a diversion program that will allow him to have his record wiped clean if he completes the program, a prosecutor said. Woods, 41, was charged with driving under the influence in May when he was found asleep in his Mercedes-Benz, apparently under the influence of a prescripti­on painkiller and sleeping medication. No alcohol was found in his system.

Byron will replace Kahne at Hendrick

CONCORD, N.C. - William Byron will replace Kasey Kahne next season at Hendrick Motorsport­s, the latest teenager to earn a promotion to NASCAR’s top level. The 19-year-old Byron will drive the No. 5 Chevrolet in the Cup series.
