Want to meet Martha?:

Entertainer to appear at Food & Wine Experience

- KELLIE HWANG

Martha Stewart will be at the azcentral.com Food & Wine Experience.

What you talk to Martha Stewart about is up to you. You can talk about any of her 80-plus cookbooks or myriad cooking show appearances. Or you can ponder how she built a retail and lifestyle empire from scratch. Personally, we want to know what Snoop Dogg asks her to make when they hang out. Whatever you want to talk about, you’ll have your chance during the “Meet Martha” VIP event at the third annual azcentral.com Food & Wine Experience at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The Empress of Entertaining will headline the culinary festival on Saturday, Nov. 4, and tickets are available now. Stewart is scheduled for cooking demonstrations, so anyone with a Grand Tasting ticket has the chance to see her. But those with a “Meet Martha” ticket, $450, are guaranteed face time. Starting at 3:15 p.m., Stewart will attend the VIP event, where she’ll sign copies of her newest cookbook, “Slow Cook-

er,” ($26) available Aug. 29 from Clarkson Potter.

Ticketholders will drink wines from Martha Stewart Wine Co. and take home a swag bag filled with Martha-approved products.

The “Meet Martha” package includes all the benefits of a VIP grand tasting ticket ($120 on its own). Among the perks are one-hour early entry to the tasting, preferred parking, a private lounge, exclusive wine and spirit tastings, separate restrooms, plus a one-year digital subscription to azcentral.com.

Food & Wine Experience launched in Scottsdale in 2015 as a partnership between azcentral.com/Republic Media and R Entertainment. That year, Graham Elliot and Chuck Hughes were the headlining chefs. In 2016, celebrity chefs Mario Batali and Scott Conant headlined festivities.

The headliner for Sunday, Nov. 5, will be announced in the coming weeks.

As in previous years, guest celebrity chefs will join dozens of local chefs and restaurants at the Grand Tasting and exclusive experiences, such as “Meet Martha,” during the two-day event.

This year, Food & Wine Experience becomes a culinary tour in partnership with Gannett, owner of USA TODAY NETWORK.

Along with her stay in the Valley, Stewart is scheduled to appear:

» Sept. 16: Detroit Free Press Food & Wine Experience.

» Oct. 1: Ventura County Star Food & Wine Experience.

» Dec. 2: Martha Stewart’s Food & Wine Experience presented by the USA TODAY NETWORK in Las Vegas.

The 10 spots on the culinary tour include Indianapolis (Oct. 7), Louisville, Ky. (Oct. 21) and Green Bay, Wisc. (Oct. 28).

More cities are on the schedule for 2018, including Cincinnati and Vero Beach, Fla. Check out the USA TODAY Food & Wine Experience website for more information.
