Lost Lake Festival to have gaming area
More details of the inaugural threeday Lost Lake Festival in Phoenix are being released.
The inaugural music festival that takes place Oct. 20-22 at Steele Indian School Park will also feature culinary, arts and gaming elements, showcasing some top Arizona talent. The Lost Playground is the larger-than-life gaming area and is a partnership with Walter Productions, an immersive entertainment company based in Phoenix known for its spectacular art cars.
“Lost Lake is a first-of-its-kind event in Phoenix, and The Lost Playground, complete with over-sized and re-imagined versions of nostalgic games, was created to take fans on an adventure of a lifetime,” said Jeremy Watson, VP of creative development for Walter Productions, in a press release.
The area will offer life-sized games for attendees to play:
» Giant Pool Table: This game features a 56-foot long pool table, and the cue ball is actually a bowling ball that players roll.
» LED Table Tennis: The special table features LED lights that respond to the touch of the ball.
» Mega Twister: A version of the childhood favorite game that features lights, sound and a giant spinner.
» Colossal Croquet: Just like it sounds: the game is so massive that players can actually fit under the hoops and chase after the balls.
Other massive versions of familiar games include Connect Four, foosball, Jenga, cornhole, ladder golf and bocce ball, and all will be lit up with colorful LEDs.
The festival is being launched by Superfly, co-creators of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn. and San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music Festival. Walter Productions has brought its unique activations to Bonnaroo, Burning Man, Electric Daisy Carnival and Life is Beautiful.
The musical headliners for the event are Chance the Rapper, The Killers, Major Lazer and Run the Jewels. Phoenix’s Chris Bianco will curate the culinary aspect of the festival with details to come.
