This Polar Bear lives far from the North Pole
Everybody is trying their best to keep cool during Arizona’s hot summer, and at the Arizona Humane Society there just happens to be an adorable fluff ball who may just convince you that winter is on the way.
Meet Polar Bear, a 5-year-old Alaskan Husky mix, who came into the care of AHS after his previous caretakers realized they no longer had the time to give him the love and support he deserved.
Like other Huskies, Polar Bear loves attention, and would benefit greatly by having a family of one or more homebodies to give and receive some TLC. Polar Bear is pretty flexible in terms of how he likes to spend his time with people, and seems at ease whether he’s getting affection, playing with toys, running in the backyard, or curling up next to somebody he can watch television with.
However, like most Husky mixes, he gets easily bored when left alone (puzzle toys can help!) and requires a high fenced-in yard as his desire to explore is unmatched.
Polar Bear is courageous and bold in nearly all situations, but would also benefit from somebody who is sympathetic to his one phobia: storms. Fortunately, bad weather isn’t something he has to concern himself with too often in the Valley; another reason why it was a great call for him to leave the North Pole to begin with.
Polar Bear is available for adoption at noon Sunday at the Arizona Humane Society’s Campus for Compassion, 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix, where he would love to meet you.
Please note that he may do better with older children. Feel free to also bring along any four-legged roommates that Polar Bear might be sharing his new home with.
