80, of Phoenix, Arizona, went to be with his heavenly father on September 11, 2017. He was a husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother and uncle. Charles was born in McCall Creek, MS on September 5, 1937. He joined the Air Force in May 25, 1959. During his 6 years in the Air Force he was a instrument­ation mechanic, which led to his lifelong passion for computers and technology. Charles was systems analyst for his entire career, working for General Electric, Honeywell, Bull, and Maricopa County. He was married to his wife Barbara, for 56 years. Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Richard Rushing, daughter-in-law Chantal Rushing of Lake Barrington, IL and his children, Christophe­r Rushing and his wife, Jordan Rushing of Carlsbad, CA, Victoria Rushing of Raleigh, NC, Eva Rushing of Raleigh, NC and Gally Huynh of Lake Barrington, IL. He is also survived by his daughter, Judie Kupillas and son-in-law, Shawn Kupillas and their children, Jessica Kupillas and Alyson Kupillas of Phoenix, AZ. And his brothers Donald Rushing of Collins, MS, and Joe Rushing of Meadville, MS.Charles was preceded in death by his parents and sister. A viewing will be held at Best Funeral Services, 501 E Dunlap Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85020 on Monday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. He will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. on Monday, September 18 at 12:30 PM.
