91, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away September 9, 2017. Helen was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 5, 1926 to W. L. "Roy" Bone and Mary Barackman Bone. After briefly residing in Amarillo, Helen’s family moved back to their native Kansas, where Mr. Bone began a long career with the Long-Bell Lumber Company, requiring several moves throughout Southern Kansas. After Helen graduated from North High School in Wichita, the family relocated to Coffeyvill­e, Kansas, where Helen met and, in 1948, married Dale Lair, who had recently returned from serving in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific theater of WW II. Helen worked in various financial institutio­ns while the family lived in Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. A loving and supportive mother to her four children, she remained vital and independen­t until her passing, living on her own after Dale’s death in 1990. The thing she cherished most was time she spent with family. She also loved animals, caring for several family cats & dogs over the years. Helen is survived by her son Brian (Noreen) Lair of Wichita, Kansas; daughters Julie (Mark) Forsyth of Gold Canyon, Arizona, and Janis Lair of Mesa, Arizona; brother David (Sally) Bone of Woodland Park, Colorado; sister Kathleen Keller of San Dimas, California; three grandchild­ren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and close neighbors & friends. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale E. Lair and her oldest son, Kevin (Vickie) Lair. A memorial service will be held at Countrysid­e Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas on October

7 at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial in Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard. Memorial donations may be made to the Arizona Humane Society, 1521 W Dobbins Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85041.
