The only way we really stop wrong-way drivers is spikes

-

Can we all finally agree now that signs do not stop wrong-way drivers!

Last weekend proved that when all the new signs did nothing to stop wrongway drivers on I-17. Impaired drivers are oblivious to signs!

Only the new cameras made the difference; but the wrong-way drivers were still rolling down the freeway for quite a while before they were stopped by the police.

The only fool-proof method to stop these wrong-way idiots are sharp spikes sticking out of the pavement of the ramps. Yes, the drivers will be sitting there with four shredded, flat tires (which I think they deserve to get), but everyone will still be alive!

The deceased don’t know they were wrong to skip seat belts

My granddaughter was 37 years old. My granddaughter drove her car without her seat belt on. Always! My granddaughter is dead!

The passenger in her car survived. Her passenger was wearing a seat belt.

My granddaughter will never know she was wrong about the need for a seat belt.

Please, please, please, wear your seat belt because you will never know if you’ve been wrong either.

The irony is that antifa’s actions match the definition of ‘fascist’

The word fascist is tossed around by all kinds of people, most of whom have no idea what that word means. Well, here’s the dictionary definition:

A political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Well, under our Constitution there can be no dictator since we have three branches of government, and none can dictate a law or policy without the consent of the other or, if challenged, must plead the case before the Supreme Court. However, if you see groups of people calling themselves “antifa” who use violence to suppress speech, who believe that speech they don’t agree with constitutes violence, they try to suppress it. Well, doesn’t that make the group antifa a fascist organization?

Journalists who have been able to embed with the antifa thugs have reported that the vast majority of the antifa crowd are communists who want capitalism destroyed, and who hate liberals and conservatives equally.

What this boils down to is crowds of communist thugs trying to intimidate anyone who dares speak out against them, using any means possible. As long as colleges, universities, and cities allow these antifa thugs to appear and act out, we’ll see more and more of this kind of behavior. — Ray Spitzer, Glendale

Motel 6 employees did the right thing reporting lawbreakers

The liberal media and local activists sure were quick to criticize Motel 6 employees for providing information to ICE that led to the arrest of various undocumented aliens staying at their hotel.

Even some of the local Phoenix elected leaders were calling for a boycott of the hotel and were pushing for the hotel management to fire the employees who provided the lists.

I guess the question I have is, are the undocumented aliens that were arrested at the hotel in the country illegally? Isn’t that against the law?

How many were criminal aliens? How many were smuggled into the United States and stashed at the hotel until they could be moved to different locations?

If you owned the hotel would you want these individuals staying there?

I think the hotel did the right thing, and it’s sad that some of these elected leaders are on the wrong side of the law.

Trump is not making America great again; he’s making it toxic

How does the Environmental Protection Agency protect you when EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, after meeting with DOW Chemical CEO for a half-hour, decided to remove the ban on Chlorpyrofos — a chemical that can cause brain defects in infants and unborn children.

This next week the Senate will vote again on repealing the Affordable Care Act. Booting 23 million Americans off insurance, applying a poison to our food supply, selling public land at bargainbasement prices, burning more coal and spewing items that raise the mercury level in fish and choke people with the air.

How is that making America safe?
