You don’t have to be a van to access wide parking

-

Today’s question: Some handicap-parking spots are labeled as “van accessible.” The sign does not say “van parking only.” Are these spots only for vans or can any type of vehicle, with the appropriate handicap parking placard of course, park in these spots?

Anyone with the proper handicap parking placard or tags can use those spots.

“Van accessible” simply means the parking slot is wide enough to accommodate vans with side-entry lifts for wheelchairs.

There, that’s that. Let’s see what else is on your busy, bright minds.

Why is the ranch dressing in a restaurant so much tastier than the ranch dressing you get from a store?

Gee, I don’t know. I don’t know which restaurants you patronize or which brand of dressing you buy or your shoe size or anything like that.

Why don’t you ask your waiter how the chef prepares the dressing?

Or maybe food just tastes better when you are out for an evening of fine dining with convivial friends instead of eating on the couch on front of the TV.

I have had to drive the freeways a lot lately and I see the overhead signs telling me how many minutes it will take to get to the different exits. They are amazingly accurate. How do they do it?

The freeways are equipped with sensors that allow the computers to make good guesses about how long it is going to take to get wherever you’re going.

So if I was of the snarky persuasion I might say that the road is smarter than you are, but of course that it is not in my sweet and thoughtful nature.
