81, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at his home in Glendale surrounded by those he loved. He leaves his sons Charles "Tim" Gundry with spouse Angelica Gundry, and Kenneth Gundry; his daughter Pamela Serio; his grandsons Brent Serio with spouse Melissa Serio, Brandon Serio with spouse Briana Serio, and Matthew Venegas with spouse May Venegas; his granddaugh­ters Brooke Gundry and Brittany Gundry; five great-grandchild­ren; brother David Gundry; and many dear friends. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Mary Alice Gundry, and son-in-law Paul A. Serio. Born and shortly raised in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Edith Gundry, he was a lifelong resident of Phoenix, Arizona. Charles enlisted in the United States Navy in 1956 and continued in the Naval Reserve until 1961 after returning he met his dear wife at Grace Evangelica­l Methodist Church and married in 1959. He attended Phoenix Tech and Glendale Community College. Charles was employed by AT&T as an electrical engineer for over thirty years before retiring. With his love for others and passion for staying busy, Charles worked as a courtesy driver for Bell Ford and Sanderson Lincoln Mercury for several years thereafter. Over the years many grew to know him in the business as "Papa Chuck," and thought so very fondly of him. Mr. Gundry had a passion for reading, camping, family and his dog Griffin. Charles loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending each and every moment he could with them. He was a wonderful family man that made each member of the family feel special in their own way.
