Joe passed away on October 4, 2017 at the age of 68. He was a beloved grandfathe­r, father, and brother. As a Family Practice physician he has been an integral part of his Scottsdale community for nearly 4 decades, and during these years his life was interwoven into the fabric of countless families. He was born in Phoenix, AZ on December 13, 1948 to Joe and Velia Reynoso. Growing up in his Mexican community, he was inspired by his childhood doctor, and reported that being a doctor was all he ever wanted to be. Joining the U.S. Army at the age of 19, he served in Vietnam as an officer in the 25th Infantry Unit. After graduating from ASU with a degree in Business, he worked for a while selling real estate and computers. Ultimately, he was able to achieve his dream and was accepted to Creighton University Medical School. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Scottsdale Healthcare, where he forged friendship­s that would last a lifetime. He worked tirelessly as a community doctor, but always found time on Thursday afternoons for golf. He is survived by his grandchild­ren Gianna, Eden, Maya, Jonah, Stella, Hunter, and Miles, his sons Javier (Laura), Jason (Elizabeth), and Luke (Heather), his brothers Rey and Bobby, and his sisters Rosie and Rachel. Viewing will be held at 10AM at St. Patrick Catholic Community, 10815 N. 84th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85260 on Thursday October 12, 2017, with service to follow at 11AM. His military burial will be at 1:30PM Thursday October 12, 2017 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N.
