Saltwater fishing out of San Diego’s H&M Landing was good Sunday. Reports indicate 207 anglers on eight trips brought in 337 yellowfin tuna to lead the catch parade. Also caught were 183 bonito, 118 skipjack, 100 yellowtail, 51 rockfish, 28 calico bass and a variety of additional species. The Ocean Odyssey with 27 anglers on a 1.5-day outing caught 135 yellowfin. Roosevelt

The lake is 58 per cent full and the water being drawn out of the lake is slowing, according to Jim Goughnour of Rim Country Custom Rods in Payson. The morning water temperatur­e is 70 degrees and bass are being caught on reaction baits such as shallow and mid-level diving shad-colored crankbaits, spinnerbai­ts and buzzbaits. Bartlett

True to form, the experts point out that the lake is good for big numbers of bass but not so good for big bass. That’s the assessment of Scooter Griffith of The Arizona Fishing Guides. Gary Senft of Bass Pro Shops reports crankbaits and reaction baits have been slow for him, but the best bass bite is coming on plastics as well as dropshots, Texas rigs and Texas rigs armed with Yamamoto jigs. Informatio­n: (602) 606-5600.

Anglers should remember the road to Blue Ridge Reservoir (also known as CC Cragin Reservoir) has been closed due to renovation of the launch ramp and parking area. In the Flagstaff area Lower Lake Mary continues to keep anglers happy. Use bead-headed flies and worms fished under a bobber. Elsewhere, try Kinnikinic­k and Ashurst lakes. Chevelon Canyon is a good bet for active brown trout now that fall is in full bloom and winter is near. The lake also holds stocked rainbow trout. Fly fishermen should try black streamers while anglers tossing lures should use Z-Rays and Kastmaster­s. The lake has a two-fish limit and anglers are limited to flies and lures.
