Ryan, Thomas A.

Thomas A. Ryan, age 82 of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2017. Tom was born in Sioux Falls, SD, on September 19, 1935. His parents were George and Madeline Ryan. Tom received his secondary and primary education at St. Joseph Cathedral Grade and High School graduating in 1954. Tom joined the South Dakota Air National Guard in July 1953, retiring from the United States Air Force in October, 1974. Tom married Connie Bjerk in October 1956, from that union five children were born. Tom was involved in the banking profession, having served in that capacity in South Dakota, Montana and Arizona. Tom also was an old car enthusiast. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years Connie, and daughter Carolee Marin. He is survived by daughter Sandy (John) Kowalski, son Steven Ryan, son Mike (Michelle) Ryan, daughter Ann Ryan (friend Doug Temple), and son-in-law Steve Marin. Seven grandchildren, Shane (Britny) Marin, John (Lauren), Callie, Ashley and Daniel Kowalski, Matthew Ryan, and Brody Stiteler. Two great grandchildren, Senya and Zander Marin. Other survivors include two sisters Sharie (Tom) Law and Kathleen (Malon) Anderson, brother-in-law Orlo (Annie) Bjerk, and sister-in-law Lois (Daryl) Fritz. A private family memorial will be held at a later date at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 Del Webb Boulevard, Sun City, AZ with internment at Sunland Cemetery.
