10 Arizonans earn recognitio­n on Forbes’ global billionair­es list

Mark Shoen, a large owner in U-Haul Internatio­nal’s parent company Amerco, heads a contingent of 10 Arizonans on Forbes’ 2018 global-billionair­e list.

The report released Tuesday listed 2,208 global billionair­es.

Jeff Bezos, the head of online retailer Amazon.com, ranked as the world’s wealthiest individual with a net worth of $112 billion, followed by Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates at $90 billion and Warren Buffett, owner of conglomera­te Berkshire Hathaway, at $84 billion. Arizonans on this year’s list:

Mark Shoen, 67, major owner in Amerco, net worth of $3.2 billion; No. 729 overall.

E. Joe Shoen, 68, Amerco president, chairman; $2.7 billion; 887 (tie).

Bennett Dorrance, 72, real estate developer and Campbell Soup heir; $2.7 billion; 887 (tie).

Bob Parsons, 67, founder of GoDaddy Inc.; $2.7 billion; 887 (tie).

Arturo Moreno, 71, owner of the Los Angeles Angels; $2.5 billion; 965.

Ernest Garcia II, 60, owner, DriveTime Automotive; $2.2 billion; 1,103.

Stewart Horejsi, 80, Berkshire Hathaway investor; $1.8 billion; 1,339 (tie).

John Kapoor, 74, founder of Insys Therapeuti­cs; $1.8 billion; 1,339 (tie).

Jerry Moyes, 74, founder of Swift Transporta­tion; $1.7 billion; 1,394.

Peter Sperling, 58, former executive of Apollo Education Group; $1.4 billion; 1,650.
