CHANDLER – (August 12, 1932- May 14, 2018)

Arlene Lois Rodway was born to Wilfred and Marion Rodway on her grandparents’ farm outside of Rowena, South Dakota on August 12, 1932. Arlene grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she graduated from Washington High School in 1950. In 1952, she married Donald Minor, also of Sioux Falls. Together they moved to Chandler, Arizona in the summer of 1959 with their three young children. Arlene spent the rest of her life living in the Chandler/Sun Lakes area. She and Donald raised their children in Chandler, where Arlene worked as an administrative secretary at the Chandler Hospital, and in 1982 the couple moved to Sun Lakes and became members of the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church.

Arlene will be most remembered for being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had extraordinary musical talent, enjoyed playing bridge, tennis and golf with her many friends, and travelling. Most of all, she loved being with her family, all of whom loved her deeply and will always remember her as the best mother and grandmother that they could possibly have.

Arlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald. She is survived by her sister Janet Knuth (Rod) of Sioux Falls; three children- Gary (Lori), David (Sandy), and Sheree; eight grandchildrenEmily, Bradley, Carrie, Jaime, Iris, Glen, Anna, and Mattea; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 24 at 11AM.
