PARADISE VALLEY – Sherman Louis Leibovitz, age 90, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, Arizona surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 8, 1927 in New Haven, Connecticu­t to the late Paul and Kate Leibovitz.

After graduating from the Boston School of Optometry, he married his wife, the late Yetta (Levine) Leibovitz on February 13, 1949. Together they moved to Arizona in 1950 and started a life and two businesses, Mastel Cleaners and Eldon Drapery. Over the years, Sherman was active in the Arizona Business Alliance and a dedicated member and past-president of B’nai B’rith Men (Grand Canyon Lodge) and the Lions Club. He was also fond of being with his friends at “Starbucks Club” and his buddies at “high-stakes” poker games. Sherman was a loving and generous man who enjoyed telling a joke and giving a kind word. Every person he met was important to him, especially his family near and far.

He is remembered by his sister, Esther Riester; son, Ron (Annette) Leibovitz, and daughter, Sherri (Phil) Stott; and grandchild­ren, Jamie (Michael), Haley, Daniel, Jessica, Michael, and Yoni; and his great-granddaugh­ter, Natalie. He is also proceeded in death by his sister, Betty Weiss; brother, Herbert Leibovitz; and son, Stuart Leibovitz.

Celebratio­n of Life will be June 4th at 11:00am at Sinai Mortuary (4538 North Sixteenth Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85016), visiting with the family to follow.
