SURPRISE – William (Bill) Waldo Holl, 88 of Surprise, AZ., passed away on May 14, 2018. He was born on May 5, 1930 in Ames, Iowa to Dio Lewis Holl, Ph.D. and Irma Nauman Holl. Upon graduating high school in Ames, Bill attended Iowa State University, where he was on the varsity golf team and President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After graduation in 1952, he married his first wife Joyce Belloumini. Bill began his career with General Electric. He then enlisted in the Navy and served from 1953 to 1955, during the Korean War. After his discharge, they settled in Pasadena, CA., where they started a family.

In 1967, Bill’s corporate career began with Marshall Laboratori­es in Torrance, CA.. In 1971, along with three other associates from Marshall Industries, he founded Amistar Corporatio­n, where he remained the Chief Financial Officer for 25 years.

After the passing of his second wife (Lynn Thomas), Bill retired to Sun City Grand, in Surprise, AZ., where he met and married Lorie Moore, in 2007. Together they enjoyed a life of travel, golf and home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lorie Holl; his sons, William Anthony Holl (Cathy) and John Dio Holl (Sue), his brother Bruce Holl (Sally), his sister Beth Bierbaum, and his four grandchild­ren, Michael, Lindsay, Samantha and Courtney.

A Celebratio­n of Life gathering is being planned.
