Making America great again, at $3/gallon

- Robert Fournier, Mesa Karen Thomson, Peoria Contact him: Joseph Drosendahl, Phoenix Nancy Wolter, Gilbert

Happy trails to us. Well, not too happy since gas hit $3-plus per gallon.

Thanks for pulling out of the Iran deal.

Not only are we less safe, but the economic repercussions will affect everything. So how will POTUS solve the gas price problem?

Simple. He will put tariffs on autos so that the average American will not be able to afford to buy a car. Well maybe we can all just do something American like farming?

Oh, I forgot there are no longer immigrants allowed in the country to work the farms. Well, then we should all try and think of one of his MAGA ideas that has not ruined America?

OK, I got nothing!

Thanks to the stranger who made my birthday one to remember

I would like to thank the wonderful gentleman who paid for our table’s dinner at Firebirds Restaurant at Arrowhead on my birthday, Saturday, May 26, 2018.

He told our waitress that I reminded him of his mother. It may have been the crazy red headband and lacy red gloves I got for a birthday present which I had on. She must have been (or is) a crazy, funny, wonderful woman!

Your kindness and generosity made this a birthday to remember and one which none of us will forget. I hope your next birthday is as special as the one you made mine!

With Sincerest and warm thanks,

We are Americans and it is time we start acting like it

I am royally ticked off! I’m not only a parent of two boys but a grandfather of one. I am outraged that our elected public employee that we call president has dictated that the children of illegal immigrants are torn from their parents!

This is similar to what our ancestors did to African slave families and what Hitler did to Jewish families during World War II. Our president has no soul!

Anybody who supports this behavior is not any better. We are Americans, and we need to start acting like we are to make this the greatest country in the world as it used to be.

Right now we are not. We are evil and pathetic. We need to take back our country by voting in all elections: local, state and federal.

Vote like your children’s and your grandchildren’s lives depend upon it, because they do!

The most deplorable example yet of Trump’s moral bankruptcy

How is it possible that family values are being practiced by this administration when women are separated from their children at the border?

How is it humane in any way when these children are put in foster homes in America while their mothers are sent back home, with no information or knowledge as to where their children are?

Who will take care of them? Will they too be deported once they can walk without any sense of where they came from? This is the most appalling, most cruel, most deplorable example yet of the chaos and moral bankruptcy of this president, and therefore, the Republican Party.
