Bluegrass Festival

As we spin the big wheel of “What in the World Is at Prescott’s Courthouse Plaza This Week,” we find it has landed on bluegrass music. Some of the top bluegrass bands in the region perform amid workshops, jam sessions and more. Bring a chair or blanket and chill under the elms.

Dia de San Juan Fiesta

If you salute one patron saint this year, why not the one for water? This Tucson fiesta honors St. John the Baptist with a procession starting near the Santa Cruz riverbed to the Mercado San Agustin Annex. Join in the appeal for summer monsoon rains, even if those pleas have fallen short over the past few years. Stay for live music, dancing, games and more.

Moonlight Hike at Red Rock State Park

The moonlight hike is among the most popular interpreti­ve hikes at Red Rock State Park. Led by a naturalist, it gives hikers the opportunit­y to enjoy the sunset and moon rise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon, while learning about the area’s history, archaeolog­y, geology, botany and riparian wildlife. The hike lasts 2 to 2½ hours and covers about 2 miles. Bring water and a flashlight. Register by June 26.

Flagstaff Pro Rodeo 2018

The fifth annual pro rodeo is a PRCAsancti­oned event featuring saddle bronc riding, team roping, tie-down roping, barrel racing and other heartpound­ing events. The rodeo offers three evening performanc­es so kids and adults alike can enjoy the show.

Deuce’s Wild Rodeo

This event in Show Low features cowboys and cowgirls from Arizona and surroundin­g states competing in seven events. Come enjoy bull riding, steer wrestling, bareback riding, team roping and more. The event also features a Rodeo Queen contest, vendor booths and activities for kids.

Star Party and Dark Sky Event

Examine the night sky with guest speaker Jim O’Connor. His hour-long “Storytelli­ng Sky Tour” program will take place on the upper patio of the Kannally Ranch House. Reservatio­ns are suggested. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy live music from 6:15 p.m.-7:30 p.m. with Bruce Carlson on acoustic folk guitar. Friends of Oracle State Park will raffle off two telescopes. Tickets are $1 or $10, depending on the telescope.

Sunset Hike at Kartchner Caverns State Park

Enjoy beautiful views of the San Pedro River Valley and Whetstone Mountains during this 2.4-mile moderate outing. Wear appropriat­e footwear and attire for a desert hike and bring plenty of water.

Star Party at Homolovi State Park

Music in the Mountains: Tommy Tucker Blues

Come hear roots-rock classics, blues, jazz and country standards. Tommy Tucker has been a profession­al performer and guitar instructor in Tucson for over 25 years. He plays the bajo sexto, a very low-tuned 12-string guitar (one full octave lower than a standard 12-string).

Reptiles, Bats, and Arizona’s Five C’s

Riordan Mansion Historic Milton Walking Tour

Learn about the town site of Milton on a guided 90-minute walk from Riordan Mansion to the Arizona Lumber and Timber company property.
