Phoenix is the third-most Amazon Prime-friendly city in America, according to a Shorr Packaging Corp. analysis based on 11 different factors.
Phoenix is a Prime city. Amazon Prime, that is. According to an analysis by Shorr Packaging Corp., Phoenix is the third most Amazon Prime-friendly city in America.
The list selects the best 25 cities in the U.S. for people who use Amazon Prime services based on 11 factors, including the amount of distribution space in the city and the number of Prime Now restaurants, Whole Foods locations, Amazon Go grocers and popup stores.
Phoenix has 1.16 square feet of Amazon warehouse space per capita, 244 Prime Now restaurants and five Whole Foods locations. Whole Foods delivery through Prime is still not available in Phoenix, but free, two-hour alcohol delivery is.
Los Angeles takes the lead at the top of the list with over 1,000 Prime Now restaurants, two Prime Now hubs, 10 Whole Foods locations, and free twohour alcohol delivery. The city is also slated to get Amazon Go grocery stores later this year.
Amazon Prime members get discounts at Whole Foods stores nationwide. Whole Foods two-hour delivery also expanded to five more major cities: Chicago; Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, and San Antonio.
To receive the discounts at Whole Foods stores, Prime members can either sign into their Amazon accounts on the Whole Foods app or link their Amazon accounts to their cellphone numbers, and punch in the phone numbers at checkout. Blue and yellow sale signs at Whole Foods stores indicate discounted items for Prime members.
Prime members can receive discounts on thefollowing items this week through July 3 at Whole Foods stores:

❚ Mochi ice cream: five for $5.
❚ Animal Welfare Rated Baby Back Pork Ribs: $4.99 per pound.
❚ Organic Yellow Peaches: $1.99 per pound.
❚ Fresh Sockeye Salmon Fillets:
$13.99 per pound.
Prime Now restaurants is a delivery service from nearby restaurants to Prime members.
An Amazon Go grocery store has no checkout lines and no cashiers. "Just Walk Out Technology" keeps track of the items taken from the store's shelves, and the store sends customers a receipt and charges their Amazon accounts when they're done shopping. The first Amazon Go store opened in January in Seattle.
Another one of the 11 determining factors in the analysis was the number of Kohl's department stores.
Kohl's and Amazon have a partnershipin select Chicago and Los Angeles Kohl's locations that displays Amazon Home products at the front of the stores and offers free shipping for Amazon product returns. Phoenix has 12 Kohl's locations, Chicago has 27, and Los Angeles has 44.
