CHANDLER – Eleanore Grace Kevin, 96, passed away on July 4, 2018. She was born November 10, 1921 in Union NJ to John and Caroline (Grewe) Melcher. Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ruth and Flora, husband of 55 years Richard Sr, and her son Richard Jr. Eleanore will be fondly remembered by her niece Carol Ivins and two daughters of PA, daughter-in-law Barbara of AZ, mother of grandchildren Pamela (Michael) Chambers of AZ, grandson Daniel (Melanie) of AZ, granddaughter Marcie (Toby) Buhler of WY, great-granddaughter Danielle (Enrique) Galindo of AZ, great-grandson Jacob Dietz of WY, and soon to arrive great-great grandson Nikolas Galindo. She had many friends who will miss her dearly and touched many lives with her class, elegance, and grace.

Eleanore was an interior designer, beautifying hospitals and hotels around the country. She even designed a friends’ vacation home in Mexico. Her grandson trusted her taste by allowing her to decorate his first home. She enjoyed calligraphy, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, which she learned in Japan. She travelled the world with her husband through the military (she was highly regarded during this time), gaining endless stories of the people and places she experienced. She always appreciated those that took care of her wherever she had patroned, which built long-lasting friendships and memories. She especially loved dogs, and sometimes would remember the dogs’ names before their owners! She purely enjoyed visits from dogs. In the later years, all of her caregivers praise her and will miss her dearly.

Per Eleanore’s request, there will be no services. Please carry forward your memories of Eleanore by enjoying the stories of your elders. Visit www. melcherchapelofroses.com to share your memories in the online guestbook.
