PHOENIX – Barbara Marcum Andrews, 83, of Phoenix passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Valley’s Dobson House on July 9, 2018. Barbara was born on March 13, 1935 in Beaumont, CA to parents Hermond Shirley Ball. She was raised by her father Hermond and stepmother, Joyce Ball in Arizona since 1943. Her siblings are Bernice (deceased) Donald (deceased). Her half-brothers are Leslie and Richard. Her stepsister­s are Laurie and Michele.

Barbara married Lynn Marcum in 1951. Barbara became a widow in 1972 when Lynn Marcum passed away. She later married Marvin Andrews in 1978. She was married to Marvin until 2004 when he passed away.

Barbara is survived by her children Rikki, Jerry and David , stepchildr­en Bil and Barbara, sonsin-law Bruce and Kerry Nye, daughters-in-law Sara, Sharon, grandchild­ren, Casey, Pamela, Sarah, and Brandon, Jonathan and spouse Karen, Great Grandchild­ren Samantha, Kaitlin, Trevor and Jaxon, as well as many nieces and nephews in the Valley. Barbara’s five children, 6 grandchild­ren and 4 great grandchild­ren were her pride and joy.

Barbara graduated from Saint Mary’s where she obtained her BSBA. Barbara was a very religious woman and passionate member of her beloved North Phoenix Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member of the Girl Scouts of America and Leader of Troop 866 in Phoenix from 1957-1964.

Barbara worked for AiResearch Mfg. then later created and managed Barbara M. Andrews & Associates, a personal and profession­al developmen­t firm. Barbara’s hobbies included family history, photograph­y and genealogy.

Barbara was fiercely loved by her family and friends. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives and will strive to honor her memory.

Services will be held at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley or the Salvation Army.
