PHOENIX – Harold C. Mallery passed away on July 9, 2018 at the age of 90. He was born in Albany, New York on February 24, 1928 to Harold L. and Rowena Scott Mallery. Hal graduated from Albany High School and attended Cornell University for one year before serving in the U.S. Army as Band Leader at the Army Band Training School. He returned to Cornell University and affiliated with Sigma Pi Fraternity. Following his father’s death, the family moved to Tucson, Arizona where Hal continued his studies at the University of Arizona. While singing in the choir at St. Mark’s Presbyteri­an Church, he met his future wife, Garnet Guentzel, and they were married in 1953. Hal is survived by his wife, Garnet; his two sons, Paul and Kurt; his daughter, Denise (Eric) Stanford; his three grandchild­ren, Blake Mallery, Greg Stanford and Julianne Stanford; and one brother, Charles G. Mallery of Vestal, New York. Hal was a Member of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and served as Arizona Chapter President in 1988. He was Owner and President of Mallery & Associates, a commercial real estate appraisal firm in Phoenix. A Service of Remembranc­e will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix 85020. A Committal Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix 85024.
