Sweet boy who needs TLC
Each week, The Arizona Republic highlights a handful of the many pets up for adoption at Valley shelters. To check the status of a specific animal, please contact the shelter directly. Have a great pet-rescue story? Email us at lauren.castle@gannett.com.
Morris
One of almost 20 cats rescued from a cramped studio apartment, Morris’ current life is night and day compared with his previous one. As with many of the felines rescued from this site, the handsome 1-year-old was rather shy and under-socialized but has made great strides the last few months. Originally, Morris was very confused and fearful while being cared for at the Arizona Humane Society. Although he would tolerate pets and handling, it was clear that it was not his favorite.
Because of this, Morris went into a loving foster hero’s home, where he continues to come out of his shell more and more each day. Day by day, this sweet boy learns how to “cat” again and now loves to spend most of his time lounging and cuddling up next to his human. When he is not napping next to his two-legged friends, he loves to take in the scenery and watch birds through the window.
Youthful Morris prefers to have a nice and quiet environment. The loving kitty cat is hoping to find the perfect person who will be patient with him as he warms up to his new home.
HOW TO ADOPT: Morris is available for adoption and ready to meet his forever family. He is still currently with his foster hero, as he does best in a home rather than a shelter. To set up a meet and greet with Morris, call 602-9977585, ext. 2145, and ask for animal number 578423. Morris’ adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip and a free followup wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
