GLENDALE – Marian T. Crecelius, 86, loving mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r and sister passed away July 6, 2018. She was born July 1, 1932 in Redwood, California to Adrian and Jewel (Crowell) Thurston. On April 1, 1972, the day her husband Lt. Col. Fred Crecelius retired from the United States Air Force, Marian received a Certificat­e of Appreciati­on for her own unselfish, faithful and devoted service. Her unfailing support and understand­ing helped to make possible her husband’s lasting contributi­on to the Nation. Marian was loved and respected by everyone and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, sisters Virginia Blum and Sandra Herron and daughter Mari Anne Crecelius. Marian is survived by her children Beverly Foster, Susan (John) Crecelius Williams, Charles (Lotte) Crecelius, Fred (Laurie) Crecelius Jr. and John Crecelius; brother Adrian (Rita) Ledda; sister Roberta (Robert) Keller, 9 grandchild­ren and 19 wonderful great grandchild­ren. “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instructio­n is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31: 25-29. A Celebratio­n of Marian’s life will be held at The Cedars, 1702 E Northern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85020 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 29, 2018.
