Enriqueta Chavez

- – It is with great sadness that the family of Enriqueta Chavez (“Queta”), age 59, announces the passing of her beautiful soul on Friday, July 20, 2018. Enriqueta will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ernie of 26 years, and her sister, Leonarda Chavez. Queta will also be forever remembered by her numerous cousins, family, and dear friends. A native of Hayden, Arizona, Queta was a graduate of Hayden High School, Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. As a counselor and residential faculty member at Phoenix College, Queta was a kind, caring, and compassionate educator who devoted her life to helping others. Queta’s joy came from extensive traveling both at home and abroad with her family, participating in various outdoor activities, sharing special moments with her dear friends, and cooking traditional holiday dishes with her Familia. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Hospice of the Valley and the outstanding medical staff at Chandler Regional Hospital. A celebration of Queta’s life will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. Benedict Catholic Church at 16223 S 48th St., Phoenix, Az. 85048 with the interment at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery at 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix, Az. 85008. A reception will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church following the interment. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship has been established in honor of Queta.
