SUN CITY – Sheila O’Connor St. Sure October 11, 1943- July 18, 2018

It is with deep sadness that the family of Sheila O’Connor St. Sure announce her death on July 18th at her home in Sun City, Arizona. Sheila was born in San Francisco on October 11th, 1943 to James and Anna O’Connor. She was the fifth of their seven children and brought to the family her own indelible print of kindness and generosity. As did all of her siblings, Sheila attended Notre Dame des Victoires Elementary School and then joined her sisters at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, class of 1961. She began her professional career with Pacific Tel &Tel and after many years there then joined the Bank of America as a contract employee. As was her way, Sheila made many life long and devoted friends during the course of these employments. The joy of Sheila’s life was her beloved daughter, Nancy St. Sure Blake. Theirs was a bond like no other. When Nancy and her husband, Donald, moved to Arizona to begin their family it was a given that Sheila would be there to be a constant and loving presence in her grandchildren’s lives. She took enormous pride in seeing Emma, Jordan and Anna Blake grow to be the fine young persons that they are today. In addition to the Blake family, Sheila is survived by her sisters: Kathleen Dargie (Fred), Mary Pratto (Charlie), Brenda MacLean (Don), Colleen Knopf (Tom) and sister in law, Patty Ekenberg (Arvid) and by her former husband, Donald St. Sure. She also leaves her 12 nieces and nephews who loved her deeply. She was predeceased by her parents, by her sister, Sister Nancy O’Connor C.S.J. and by her brother, Captain Denis O’Connor. Sheila loved our family parties and would enhance each one with her spot on belting out of Ethel Merman’s “Everything’s Coming Up Roses”. This was truly her own philosophy of life. Memorial services will be held at Christ’s Church of the Valley 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd. Peoria, AZ 85383 on Friday, August 3rd at 2pm in building 400. Contributions in Sheila’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice. To share memories please visit: www. heritagefuneralchapels.com
