Need evidence Trump lied? Roll in trucks

- K Blazer, Scottsdale

In a Friday letter to the editor ("Yeah, yeah, Trump lies. And we'll never hear the end of it"), Sheldon Cook of Prescott states that he never gets specifics about what lies Trump has told.

I will be happy to give you some specific examples, Mr. Cook.

1. Falsely claimed he passed the biggest tax cut in history.

2. Falsely claimed Mexico would pay for his wall.

3. Falsely claimed incredible success in job growth (under Trump it's lower than the last five years of Obama).

4. Falsely claimed 32,000 people attended his rally in Grand Rapids, Mich. when the actual number was 8,000.

5. Falsely claimed the U.S. trade deficit with China is $500 billion when it is actually about $300 billion.

Mr. Cook, there are thousands more examples out there if you care to look. Chris Eaton, Phoenix

In the end, walls turn out to be a big waste of wealth and manpower

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. The history of walls, beginning with the walls of Jericho, is one of failure, such as the Great Wall of China. George Snively, Phoenix

David Garcia is going to make the rich pay their fair share. What?

To quote candidate David Garcia in the AZ Voter education guide "our economy is stacked against us" and "Garcia will fight to make big corporations and the wealthiest pay their fair share."

What an inspiration to us all! You can't succeed so why bother. But don't worry, I will penalize those who have more than you do.

Please tell me that the Democratic Party can do better than this.

We are all best served by strong and thoughtful candidates on both sides.

And by the way, what does fair share mean?

A 90-percent tax rate for the rich? No more than $100,000 in annual income for any individual?

I've always been curious.
