Teri Skinner

-

– It is with deep sadness that the family of Teri Skinner announce her passing from this world on July 23, 2018, due to complications from surgery. She was born on Sept. 5, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Her family moved to Scottsdale in 1959 and Teri graduated from Scottsdale High in 1968. She spent her college years at ASU where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi and on the pom-pon line. After living in Denver for a couple years, Teri returned to Arizona where her love for kids sent her to Shadow Mt. High School as a special ed. teacher where she taught for many years. She then taught at North Canyon and finally at Valley Vista. It would be impossible to count the number of lives that she touched as a teacher, friend and family member. She helped keep our family together with her swim parties, Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas get-togethers that we’ll always remember. Friends will surely miss the plates of homemade cookies and candy from Teri that she loved making and giving as much as we loved eating. Her children and grandchildren were her life.

Those left to cherish their memories of Teri include her mother Betty Craig Bolze, brother Kent Craig (Alice) of Kearny, Az., sister Julie Craig of Phoenix, children Andy Skinner (Anna), C.J. Skinner (Carolyn), Melia West (Darren) and Matt Skinner, six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Teri was preceded in death by her father Hayden Craig, granddaughter Destiny and niece Mandy.

Donations in Teri’s memory may be made (for teacher supplies) to Shadow Mt. High in Phoenix or to Valley Vista High in Surprise.

Condolences may be expressed on-line at www. obits.azcentral.com.
