Love triangles abound on spinoff ‘Bachelor in Paradise’

It’s a summer of love, tears (and Jordan) on popular show

- ABC

ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” is back for another summer full of drama, heartbreak and free-flowing booze from the always-open bar. The summer spinoff dumps rejects from previous “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” seasons onto an island for two weeks in the hopes that some may fall in love. This season in particular, the cast is full of former villains and sent-home-on-the-first-day contestants. From the looks of the trailers released so far, this season is a doozy.

It’s the Jordan (Kimball) show

No surprise, the former model from Crystal River, Florida, dominated the previews. His outfits are lavish, his appearance is always on his mind, and his attitude is so bold, it seems to be rubbing everyone the wrong way. If you’re thinking not much has changed since his time on Becca Kufrin’s season of “The Bachelorette,” you would be correct.

A ghost from his closet, another former “Bachelorette” contestant David Ravitz, also makes an appearance on the show, likely just to get under Jordan’s skin.

Amidst all the drama, it looks like he cozies up to Jenna Cooper, a reject from Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of “The Bachelor,” for most of the summer.

Things get nasty between Leo and grocery store Joe

The two rejects from Becca’s season of “The Bachelorette” get in a tussle while vying for Kendall Long’s heart, who was eliminated in the final three from Arie’s season of “The Bachelor.”

Leo Dottavio, a stuntman from Los Angeles, appears to verbally and physically get into it with Joe Amabile, a grocery-store owner from Chicago who stole Bachelor Nation’s heart after just one episode.

Who will win the heart of the creative director from Santa Clarita, California? Kendall seems torn over them, which is odd because the two are very different.

Tia and Colton are in a love triangle

Tia Booth, a physical therapist from Weiner, Arkansas, from Arie’s season of “The Bachelor,” and Colton Underwood, a former football player from Becca’s season of “The Bachelorette,” caused enough drama even before setting foot on the beach. The two start dating prior to Colton’s “Bachelorette” appearance but broke it off when he began competing for Becca’s heart.

Tia made it crystal clear to Becca she still had feelings for Colton, which made things awkward. Becca eliminated Colton, who then ended up on the beach in paradise.

Now that both are finally on the same show, Tia still doesn’t pick him. She gets into a fling with Chris Randone, the villain from Becca’s season.

“Oh shocker, another love triangle with Colton in it. Big surprise,” fellow contestant David says in one of the previews.

Colton and Tia are crying in the previews, Chris is plotting to steal Tia’s heart, and I’m already over it.

Bibiana is back

This girl hasn’t had enough? This marks the executive assistant from Miami’s third appearance on the “Bachelor” franchise. She went home empty-handed from “The Bachelor” starring Arie and “Bachelor Winter Games” in December.

She’s seen in the previews sobbing — shocking — and having a ball with “Bachelor Japan” reject Yuki Kimura, who isn’t actually a contestant but one of the bartenders alongside “Paradise” regular Wells Adams.

Some other familiar faces, such as Bachelor Arie and fiancee Lauren, are set to make an appearance throughout the season.
