SCOTTSDALE – Marguerite (Marge) Evelyn Garrison McAhron, 95, Scottsdale, Ariz., passed from this earth to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018. She passed in the presence of husband, all adult children, their spouses and five of seven adult grandchild­ren.

Born April 22, 1923, in Jersey City, N.J. She is the daughter of Arthur B. Garrison and Diana Dirigo Garrison and was reared in that city.

She was an executive secretary at Hughes Aircraft for several years prior to becoming a full-time homemaker in the interest of rearing her children. She later took on several secretaria­l jobs, volunteer positions, especially with children, and was the biggest cheerleade­r for her family. She and her family have been faithful attenders of Baptist or Bible churches where they have lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother and an older sister, and was the last of her nuclear family.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Max McAhron, formerly of Harrison County, Ind.; a son, Carl McAhron; two daughters, Jocelyn Horton (Kevin) and Teresa Strunk (Glenn); and seven adult grandchild­ren, Tyler Horton (Lindsay), Eric Horton, Bryan Horton, Shane Horton, David Strunk, Amy Strunk and Carolyn Strunk.

Marguerite, and family, are at rest in the promise for believers: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!”

Cremation was chosen. Messenger Mortuary in Scottsdale handled arrangemen­ts. There will be a memorial service Labor Day weekend at First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale.
