PHOENIX – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Arthur Cunningham III, who died unexpected­ly on August 15, 2018 near his summer home in Coeur d’alene Idaho.

Art was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 15, 1958 to Arthur Cunningham, Jr. and Katherine Francis Momsen

Art accomplish­ed many things in life, but will be most remembered for the kind of man he was and how he impacted the lives of so many. Art had a presence within him that made all those around him feel loved, appreciate­d, and special. His warmth, spontaneit­y, energy, sense of humor, generosity and love he showed others was inspiring. Art simply loved life. Art had a long and respected career in commercial real estate. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all those who knew him.

Art is survived by his loving fiancé Janet Dillon Duval and her sons; sisters Peggy Burgess and Kay Magri, brother John; and their spouses; his many adoring nieces, nephews, grandniece­s and grandnephe­ws; cousins; he was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joan Hines and Aunt Margie.

Visiting hours will be at Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Drive on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. concluding with a Rosary. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N Central Avenue, Phoenix, on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Please note seating is limited. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. A reception following the graveside service will take place from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at Phoenix Country Club, 2901 N 7th Street in Phoenix.

In lieu of flowers the Arthur Cunningham Scholarshi­p Fund has been set up at Brophy College Preparator­y.
