Lila Wisdom

SCOTTSDALE – – Lila J. Wisdom, 80, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away peacefully in her home on August 14, 2018. Lila was born in Tucson, AZ and lived in Casa Grande, AZ where she graduated from high school in 1956. She went on to attend the University of Arizona where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1960. She found adventure later on the east coast by moving to New York City. There, she met all the right people and in no time, found a place to live and a new job at Lord & Taylor, where she was quickly promoted as a buyer. Lila went on to work for Doris Duke, as well as Brooke Shields & Company. She eventually returned to Arizona and settled into Scottsdale for her remaining years. During those years in Scottsdale, she worked a number of positions with a wide range of companies. Her remaining work years from 1995 to 2005 were for America West Airlines, where she worked in the International department. Lila is survived by her brother, Joe Wisdom (Lindy) and a sister Sarah Marie Wisdom along with her children, Christopher Wisdom (Heidi) with 3 children, Tremaine Bradshaw with 4 children, Cheyenne Griffith (Jason) with 4 children, Samaria Cable (Jason) with 7 children. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph B. Wisdom, and her mother, Eulalia Wisdom (who died at Lila’s birth) and Margaret Cruz (Surrogate mother and Eulalia’s sister), along with her uncle, Ramon Cruz, and other family members too numerous to mention. She is greatly missed by the loved ones she leaves behind. May you rest in peace Lila.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24th from 5-7PM with Rosary Service at 7PM at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E Indian School Rd, Scottsdale. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 25th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7655 E Main St, Scottsdale. Interment will be held at 10AM on Monday, August 27th at Mt. View Cemetery, 15506 W Skyway Ave, Casa Grande, AZ.
