SCOTTSDALE – Alice Hall Bayer, of Scottsdale Arizona, passed away on September 25, 2018. Alice was born August 16, 1938 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was the eldest of 5 children and sibling to Charles W. Hall III, Susan Hall, Nancy Hall Chase, and Allen Capps Hall (Bunny). Alice is survived by her daughters Emily Bayer and Ellen Bayer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Wesley Hall, Jr. and Virginia Capps Hall and her niece Susan Chase Koerner.

Alice graduated from DuQuoin Township High School in DuQuoin, Illinois in 1956. From there, she attended the University of Arizona from 1956 - 1960. A Wildcat for Life. Alice was president of her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. Alice served on The University of Arizona Phoenix Alumni Board of Directors for many years and served as President in 1989-1990. During her tenure, she undertook some new alumni ventures including the train trip along the Verde River Valley. She also spearheade­d The U of A Golf tournament at the Arizona Biltmore Resort which became a signature annual event and major fundraiser for the scholarshi­p program which provided financial assistance to Phoenix area students to attend the U of A. She was awarded the U of A Alumni Associatio­n Sidney S. Woods Alumni Service Award on November 1, 1991.

Alice was an avid animal lover and rescued many dogs and cats throughout her life. She also loved gardening and feeding the desert critters that lived near her home in Scottsdale. Alice loved and supported The University of Texas Women’s Basketball Team, where daughter Ellen played in college. She loved planning and organizing social events for her family as well as her college sorority sisters and traveled together with them throughout the United States. Alice was also the Hall family historian and loved to gather people around to tell her stories.

There will be a Celebratio­n of Life Service on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2 pm at The Scottsdale Plaza Resort, LaValencia Ballroom, 7200 N. Scottsdale Road, which is on the property of Alice’s former family home. Please wear bright colors and feel free to share a funny memory or story at her service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in memory of Alice Hall Bayer be made to the Arizona Humane Society, www.azhumane.org. Arizona Humane Society 1521 W.
