Santina “Sandy” Acquista

PEORIA – Sandy Acquista (Bonetto), 86 of Peoria, AZ, passed away on October 1, 2018. Sandy was born on Christmas Day, 1931 to Carmelo & Concetta Bonetto in Buffalo, NY. She grew up on the west side of Buffalo. Sandy married Louie Acquista in 1954. In 1976, they with their daughters moved to Glendale, AZ. Sandy retired from Apollo High School in 1995 as the Attendance Secretary, where she worked for many years. Sandy was very social and made friends with ease. She loved her family and her friends with all her heart. She loved to cook and kept many of the Italian traditions that she grew up with. She also loved to go to the casino, as we enjoyed going with her. Thank you to those who spent time with her in her last days. Sandy is preceded in death by her husband Louie, her parents and her brother Peter. She is survived by her daughters, Jennine (Robert) Tautimer, Carline (Donnie, Sr.) Fajardo, by her grandchildren, Donnie, Jr. (Stephanie), Nicholas, Victor “Desi”, Tyler and her great grandson, Jaxon. Also by her brother Sam (Stephanie), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, AZ 85381 from 5:00-8:00 pm, Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass, Monday, October 8, 2018 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 5510 W.Cholla St., Glendale, AZ 85304 at 10:00 am, luncheon to follow in church hall. Rest sweet mother, we will see you again one day.
