Doris (Holder) Pauletich

-

EL MIRAGE Doris (Holder) Pauletich was born November 29,1929 to Dewey Holder and Hattie Belle Wilson, in McMinnville, Tennessee and passed peacefully in El Mirage on October 23, 2018, called by God to take her Holy Communion with the Angels. Doris felt herself ready to greet again those former family members and friends having passed before her to their eternal rest. She, now, knows the peace “that passeth all understanding.”

She was a strong Christian woman who read the Bible every morning with her loving husband. All who knew her felt the extension of God’s goodness and love radiating through her.

No sketch of her life, however perfect, can give any adequate conception to strangers of what a unique woman she was. One would require knowing her privately to understand her deep, simple, honest piety. She, by real goodness in life and conversation, won, without seeking it, a place in the esteem of people.

If you are going to measure her years, eighty-eight would be the number, but in quality of life years, she is measured by sixty-nine years of marriage to her high school sweetheart and the wind beneath her wings, James Samuel Pauletich, six offspring, Denise Mills, Jimmy, Bridget (Charles) Otterman, Jody, Jeff (Terri), and Samantha (Joe) Seginski; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren; all enduring legacies of love. Etched in the countenance of her face is love given and received. It is not the quantity of the life, but the quality of her life that demands your attention.

Doris had a most fascinating manner, gentle and simple, which endeared her to young and old. She was a humble woman with a silent strong strength that demanded attention of everyone present when she spoke. Doris graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1948. She was an avid reader, and always showed a mind deeply exercised in spiritual things and could express herself through thoughtful meditations.

Doris was known to have a quick wit that cut with razor sharpness when need be. She was not quick to temper, but never suffered fools gladly. She found enjoyment in the simple things and in seeing the success and happiness of others. She never judged others through the lens of jealousy, greed, or untruthfulness. In the jargon of her particulars, she was just good folks.

A celebration of Doris’ life will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at 2:00pm, Sunwest Cemetery and Funeral Home, 12525 NW Grand Ave, El Mirage, AZ 85335

The celebration will continue at the Palms of El Mirage Club House, 16101 N. El Mirage Rd, El Mirage, AZ 85335, 3-6pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, Surprise Palliative Care, 14066 W. Waddell Rd, Surprise, AZ 85379
